Street racer leads police on a high speed chase.
7221 | Kuznetsova starts her shift and was almost instantly thrown into a 10-80 of a single suspect failing to yield to officers upon an attempted traffic stop. After exiting Mission Row Police Department, the update went out that the suspect was eastbound on Vespucci toward her current location. A few moments later, the late model Annis Elegy RH-8, Driven by Positively ID’d suspect “Mike Fox” was speeding past the trooper at an excessive rate of speed, fleeing the doubled up unit of 344+1 through a red light intersection. she attaches and started callouts shortly before being told Primary could take over. 311 attached, and the pursuit continued throughout the lower part of downtown Los Angeles with the suspect creating a public danger with overly reckless driving maneuvers in an attempt to flee police. After making a complete circle around legion square and Adam’s Apple Blvd, the suspect started up toward Elgin Ave, where he struck a CHP Caprice at a high rate of speed, knocking the vehicle across the public roadway, over the sidewalk with luckily no pedestrians on it, and into a concrete wall. The officers inside were okay, and miraculously able to continue pursuit. The suspect continued down near legion Square and took the chase onto the interstate where they reached speeds of over one hundred and seventy miles per hour and back down to the Downtown district, where they again attempted to flee police through back roads and high traffic areas. The Chase would eventually come to a crashing end as the suspect tried their luck one last time by evading into Red garage, which was highly populated at the time. It should be noted that all surrounding civilians were unaware of the current events, and would have suffered fatal results due to the negligence of the suspects actions if not for the quick thinking of the Lieutenant and primary at the time to box the vehicle in, while it attempted to make an escape down the second story of the parking confinement. The suspect would see there is nowhere left to drive, with their vehicle badly damaged at this point, they make a run for it on foot, hopping the concrete wall and scaling down the wall to the ground floor, the suspect would make their way back over to the south-side entrance/exit of the garage where the primary officer would deploy their less than lethal in a successful attempt to subdue the suspect. After a couple of failed attempts to get away after the tase, the suspect is eventually detained and placed into police custody, read their rights, and processed at MRPD. 221 | Lieutenant Kuznetsova was assistance, secondary unit throughout the entire incident.
