Streets of Rage 4, known in Japan and Asia as Bare Knuckle IV (ベ ア ・ ナ ッ ク ル IV?), Is a beat 'em up style electronic game developed by Lizardcube and Guard Crush Games, as the fourth edition the Streets of Rage series, published by DotEmu in association with the company Sega Games, and the sequel to Streets of Rage 3 (1994), from the MegaDrive video game. It was announced in August 2018 and released on April 30, 2020 for Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The title is located in Portuguese.
Continuing the gameplay style of previous releases, Streets of Rage 4 is a side scrolling beat 'em-up in which players fight waves of enemies using a series of special moves and attacks. The novelty of the game formula is the ability to recover the health spent using a special attack, executing successive follow-up attacks. Players are also able to manipulate opponents against each other and walls for extended combos. It is possible to collect stars, allowing players to make super powerful moves. Unlockable features include characters from previous games, presented in 16-bit style, and retro music tracks from Streets of Rage and Streets of Rage 2.
