*Update* I bought the unlocking of all SOR 1 & 2 characters from the shop, and attempted to start or at least see how far I got in the SOR2 path with SOR2 Skate & Max. Unfortunately, the game crashed resulting in my abrupt ending to the stream. We shall pursue the streets once again in part 2.2!
With the recent release of Streets of Rage 4 and all the buzz surrounding it, I felt like a worthy title deserved a revisiting in Streets of Rage Remake. Streets of Rage Remake is an unofficial freeware fangame remake of the first three Streets of Rage franchise popular between the 1990s for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive, remade by the independent video game developer Bombergames since 2003. The remake contains content from all three titles and regional variations along with new features, including some seen from the Master System/Game Gear ports and beta versions. It also includes an important feature. A built-in editor that called SorMaker, that allows the user to design within the Streets of Rage Maker. Create and edit their own levels and finally a palette editor. Both are executable, however (originally) it must be unlocked in-game first to create and play custom games. Streets Of Rage Remake also did free modern updates and new features unlike the original saga, including the inclusion of new scenarios, characters, remixed music, game modes or
even a store where you can unlock extras apart from the original released games. Unfortunately, due Sega's copyright takedown of the game, and the release of the official Streets of Rage 4, it has cause this awesome game to come to an immediate halt, preventing any future updates and bugfixes.
