5Today we are going to talk about one of the retro gems that Sega gave us, Streets of Rage, one of the quintessential beat ‘em up created for the 16-bit Mega Drive console.
In this title, that brings us nostalgia for those endless hours in the arcades, we will have to save what once was a happy, peaceful and productive city that has fallen into the hands of a secret criminal organization.
Looting, violence and destruction have become the daily bread. No one is safe. In Streets of Rage we can put ourselves in the shoes of Adam, Axel and Blaze, three young police officers determined to end the problem once and for all. They decided to create a special unit in the only possible way, leaving the police force.
It features many cyberpunk sci-fi elements and it has a soundtrack composed by Yuzo Koshiro and inspired by the music that was heard in the nightclubs and discos of that time.
