Strider 2 é um jogo de ação estilo arcade em ritmo acelerado. Ao contrário de seu antecessor, possui animações 2D colocadas em fundos 3D. Há uma série de novos movimentos, incluindo salto duplo, cambalhota para trás e corrida, o que lhe permite dar saltos mais longos.
