Strife Playthrough - EP13: The Loremaster

There is not much to say about the Proving Grounds. The place is one big slugfest and I always forget how to navigate it. I wanted to use the upgraded fist more but it is not exactly easy for me to sneak up on enemies.
The Lab was a disaster because I expected the two Inquisitors to fly up on the starting platform so I could punch them both. However, this playthrough they somehow did not feel like it and one of them even got stuck in the pit that releases the Loremaster.
The Loremaster seems to be the head scientist and the brain behind the Order's machinery and cyborgs. Why does he want to complete the Sigil when the Order already had all the pieces anyway remains unknown. Once again, probably the relic of whatever was planned in the beginning.
The Loremaster's sprite interestingly shows severe stages of alien mutation closely resembling a hybrid between a human and a Spectre with many tentacles and appendages. There exists a sprite from the Beta version where his name was Priest and these priests were normal enemies. They also looked like possible members of the ancient civilization that is not explored further at all beyond the ruins you find and the idea that the evil god was on the planet in the past already. Whether the Loremaster could be somebody from way back that time and survived as a host for one of the Spectres is unknown.
