In this Skul the Hero Slayer video, we'll be using the Mage skull! A skull who struggles a bit within the Dark Mirror, at least if you don't understand why he struggles and how to fix it, a lot of new players tend to avoid him. HOWEVER, both through direct buffs and also indirect buffs through inscription changes, the Mage has slowly but surely crept up in power! To make Mage better, you absolutely need Manatech 3 to increase his skill casting speed. Like many skulls, Mage can get stuck in his casting animations, which prevents you from moving, dashing, and so on, and it makes you very vulnerable. Understanding this will fundamentally change how you feel about many skulls, actually, but Mage is chief among them. Another thing Mage struggles with is his clunky Meditation mechanics, which also keeps you stuck in place and makes you vulnerable. However, you can get around this via swapping, ANOTHER underutilized mechanic by the community at large. So, consider this a bit of a demonstration of how to fix the Mage, and what he's capable of once he's built right! How will my Mage fair in the ruthless DM10?
