This was a day I wanted to take a break from voiced commentary and give my throat a break, but I also wanted to play a game and do some recording anyway. So, another uncommentated Slay the Spire run.

Silent is the last character with unlocks I still need to get, so may as well start Ascension 5 with them. The game doesn't clarify what "heal less after boss battles" means, but apparently it's "heal 75% of missing health" instead of 100% of missing health. This sounds scary but is pretty minor in the grand scheme of things; it has no effect on most of act 1 and you'll still enter acts 2, 3 and 4 with a pretty large amount of health. There's just more of an incentive now to "do bosses properly" and try to take minimal damage, rather than secure a kill at all costs even if you end up at 1 HP.

This ends up being a pretty nice Shiv run. It's not completely 100% tunnel-vision focused on Shivs, but rather on a combination of ways of pumping up their damage, ways of generating them, and ways of putting up Block while I get them ready. This seems like the way to build your Shiv deck to properly handle situations where you get Weakened, or handle the Time Eater with very effective individual Shivs.

Regarding the unlocks at the end, I'm happy to see those cards in particular unlocked now, because I've already had several runs where Concentration and Setup would have been great cards to see, including this very run where I unlock them. So at least that's done. I hope Slay the Spire 2 either has less meta-progression, or at least more interesting meta-progression than just "some cards and relics just aren't allowed to show up until you've played this character enough times".
