Well, that's Shards of Darkness done and finished. I didn't have nearly as much trouble with the final boss as other people intimated that I might. Then again, I was playing on the lowest difficulty.

Shards of Darkness was a moderately competent stealth game. The mechanics were generally fun, but the smell mechanic that Dwarfs had didn't really feel consistent, and the bug enemies detracted from the experience. They didn't completely overpopulate the levels with unkillable enemies, but it was enough that it hurt my enjoyment of the game. The settings started out novel, but the reuse (whether in a new, similar zone or a flat-out repeat) hurt the novelty. Overall, a competent game that I enjoyed.
