A replay of my SECOND 1cc Aya run in Touhou: Subterranean Animism. 1cc = no continues.

Here are some dates for you:

March 19, 2012 - First played game. Made it to stage 4 (after about 10 attempts)
March 20, 2012 - Cleared "Storm on Mt. Ooe" and felt I had to save a replay.
April 5, 2012 - Made it to stage 5.
April 8, 2012 - Made it to stage 6. Using a continue.
April 28, 2012 - Made it to stage 6. Legit.
May (!!!) 12, 2012 - Finally beat stage 6. Mostly by doing better in stage 5.
...
May 16, 2012 - Somehow accidentally destroyed my scoreth11.dat. I still had all my replays, but it didn't feel right to be recording a video where it said "History 00/00" all over the place. Besides, I'd have to do it again now to unlock Extra again, so...

May 25, 2012 @ 2:00 AM - Did it again. Recorded this.

So most of the Histories are not accurate (I think I was up to around 65/70 for the first stage 1 spell before I lost it all), but they are what they are. And they're not 00/00.

For some reason, I tend to equate "Stage 1" with "showing off." Obviously, it's the stage that gets played the most, so I've kind of got this all worked out. The fight with... excuse me, I have to look this up... "Kurodani Yamame," yes... is completely forgettable and uninteresting. LIke her name. =V

ReimuC can tear through Stage 2 like nobody's business. I decided to leave at least just a little challenge. Although in all honesty, I still can't figure out Mizuhashi's midboss non-spell. Sometimes, the bullets seem to make sharper turns than other times, and they end up packed together =/. Mizuhashi herself is a no-brainer.

I like the battle with Yuugi. I like her character, too. I like stage 3's music, and I feel like the stage portion of stage 3 provides a nice challenge, more up my alley than stage 4 (where I tend to bomb through the only challenging part). Frankly, I like all of stage 3. Except for the parts that kill me. The laser non-spells are fun, though.

I also used to be really good at Knock Out in Three Steps, with a history of about 12/30... all 12 at the beginning...

The stage portion of stage 4 is pretty chill. The flying giant cards of death aren't that deadly if you pay attention. One of the last bits involves quite a bit of streaming; I just bomb through it. You need to really focus your firepower on the midboss if you want to get that Star Piece. Also, it's important to note that the very last enemy (the one that spits out green cards) also drops a Star Piece.

Next up... Komeiji Satori, you emo-tistical dancing-at-the-hips-during-combat freak.

...she's not too bad, although I die in the MOST STUPIDEST DEATH POSSIBLE against her. Her only shared spell is "Terrible Souvenir," which is a little interesting. I find that staying still is a bit too dangerous, and so I like to keep moving and get as few lasers tracking me as possible.

Her copy-based attacks for Aya aren't that bad, either. WGHATL typically lets you live if you stick near the top of where the two streams cross, but I got nailed this time. Tengu Macro Blast is scarier than it looks; remember that many of the arrows point directly at you, so just adjust your movements if you find yourself frequently being cornered by it. Great Whirlwind is easy so long as you're brave and SLIP THROUGH THE FIRST TWO before they expand a second time.

Stage 5! \o/
I HATE STAGE 5! OH GOD I HATE IT!

Mreeeeeoooowwwww! =3
BURN IN HELL YOU FRACKING CAT

Anyways, I deliberately make it to Cat Walk so I can show you my history: 01/03 (more like 01/25), PROOF that I can do it. Once. =(
Also, if you timeout against her non-spells, you have to deal with those eyeballs for a much longer period of time afterwards, which is not fun.

I hate Orin's non-spells more than anything else in the game. They look easy, but they kill me so often, especially the one after Spleen Eater.

Speaking of Spleen Eater, I'm usually really good at it. The trick to Spleen Eater is to stay close; you want to make your second pass through the previous spiral before the new spiral starts moving.

And then, holiest of holies, I ALMOST CLEARED GHOST WHEELS. As in, I didn't die. If I didn't waste a bomb at the beginning just to say "screw it," I might have gotten an 01 in my history.

Stage 6's streaming portion is insane. I always lose a couple bombs to it. This time I lost ALL my bombs, and immediately regretted it... until I cleared Youkai "Blazing Wheel" for the very first time ever!

I have no idea how anyone does "Nuclear Fusion." Screw that spell, seriously. I'm altogether not very polished against Utusho, but I did a hell of a lot better than the first time.

...

I'm resisting the urge to put "Stage 1", "Stage 2", Stage 3", etc. in the tags. I'm not quite sure how people will find this video...
