Summarizing My YouTube Subscriptions
5I wrote short summaries for all 270 of my YouTube subscriptions.
The real reason I did all this was to be more mindful of what I watch. In the age where mindless consumption of media is more common place, I wanted to attempt to steer myself away from that. To take a deeper look at what I expect from content creators I enjoy, and to understand what I like to watch on a level that matters to my sensibilities.
During this process, the goal was to unsubscribe from channels that didn’t spark joy when I saw their videos, or from channels I didn’t want to hold out hope for a new video coming out. During which, I unsubbed from about 10ish channels, so I guess I was doing a pretty good job. As a result, I was able to easily find more channels to subscribe to while making this video. Not just mindlessly clicking that button because it’s free, and I could always unsubscribe later. Because we don’t always do that later. Sometimes, I think we should.
