Summer 2024 Box Office Recap Part 1 (Winners)
6Here's the first part of my recap of the Summer 2024 box office. Overall, it wasn't quite as insane as last year but it was still an interesting time. Despite getting off to a TERRIBLE start, 2024 did get a number of much-needed hits. The biggest easily being Inside Out 2, which defied all expectations and became the highest-grossing animated movie of all time. And literally, one month later, Deadpool & Wolverine became the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time. After a disastrous 2023, Disney really turned things around at the box office. And that's not even including Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes and Alien: Romulus. Summer also had its predictable success stories (Despicable Me 4) and its surprising ones too (Longlegs, It Ends With Us). All in all, it was far more positive than last year.
