About 2500 attempts after halving from double restart. Most were done with a stupider strat where I didn't walk around the monster spawn linedef despite there being enough time for that and was just running into the vile. Eventually, I had enough of being blocked a ton by the vile and got one 5.00 out of that and decided that crossing over to the other side, with a good vile placement, is the way to go. You don't need some crazy instant vile attack this way, since it's really not that tight to get to the exit in 4, it's just if you do the vile jump normally, you almost always get blocked.
