Super Bomberman 2: Opening, Title Screen, & Normal Game: Level 1-1 to 1-3
Super Bomberman 2 is the first sequel of the original 5 titles of the Super Nintendo sub-series of the Bomberman franchise. This game makes the first one feel like a beta!
For its story, taking place sometimes after the defeat of Carat Diamond and Dr. Mook, White Bomberman faces a much greater threat to his world: The Five Dastardly Bombers!
They are Magnet Bomber, Golem Bomber, Pretty Bomber, Brain Bomber, and their leader, Plasma Bomber. They've specifically arrived on Bomberman's planet to seek him out, possibly knowing of his previous adventure. White Bomberman tried to fight them off, but he is quickly captured and taken into the massive spaceship, which is divided into 5 different domains that each of them own. The White Bomberman's mission is to fight through each of the dastards' domains, face the dastards, themselves, and blow their entire ship out from space!
--------------
This game's 1-Player mode is unique from its prequels and all of its own sequels in that it is a complete Single Player experience that doesn't allow any co-op play. It is because of this that Black Bomberman doesn't even exist in the game's plot.
--------------
When White Bomberman got captured, he was locked up in a cell on Magnet Bomber's part of the Dastardly Bomber's spaceship, but then he breaks himself out and plan a march towards Magnet himself by blowing through his castle-like territory.
Each video I make of this game will be split into 3 parts per "world". The 1st part for the first 3 levels of each ship or domain, the 2nd part for the next 3 levels, and the 3rd part for the two boss levels.
Unlike the first game where you had to kill all of the enemies to move on, you now have to use your bombs to activate special square switches called Capsules in order to move onto the level through a door. Also unlike the first game, you can now see the door you have to go through after you're done the whole time instead of having to find one hiding in a Soft Block. More enemies will still spawn if you torch it with a bomb, though.
Also, that unbelievably-long invincibility you got at the start of each level is completely gone.
1-1
- Enemies: 3 Puff Puffs
- Power-Ups: 2 Bomb Ups, Fire, Roller Skates
1-2
- Enemies: 3 Puff Puffs, 1 Mr. Moai
- Power-Ups: 2 Bomb Ups, Fire
1-3
- Enemies: 2 Hell Magnets, 1 Mr. Moai
- Power-Ups: 2 Fire, Roller Skates
This game also has a lot of traps. For example, the Magnets and pull in your bombs and get turned when they touch an explosion. The Dynamite, while they can clear out a lot of space, also means their range can still reach you if you stay too close to setting one off. There are also the red boosters, which maximize your bombs' firepower if you set them on one.
Did I also mention that some of the stages are long enough to allow scrolling, now?
