Super Bomberman R: Story Mode: Planet Bomber 1-4
When this game first came out, its Story Mode ended after the defeat of Emperor Buggler.
However, part of Konami's surprisingly-huge support for this game, on November 2017, they dropped a huge patch on this game that, among other things, added a bonus storyline that takes place months after the Bomberman Bros. saved the universe.
----------
This extra storyline takes place right back at home in Planet Bomber, where the planet is currently going through a huge pet boom: The Ballom Boom!
In this game, Balloms are round, balloon-like creatures shaped like animals and fruits. They come in many shapes, sizes, and colors, but they're all quite adorable!
Everyone on Planet Bomber wanted their own Ballom, as they could be raised in any way they wanted. Pink, in particular, wanted one badly. Black saw this as an opportunity to comfort his little sister over the lack of a pet, but then White storms in with a Ballom, himself. One for him and all of his siblings to share. Seems to be a special one with a white body with a huge heart over its head.
But then... suddenly, the new Ballom... attacked?! And that's not even the end of it.
The Bombermen followed their suddenly-angry Ballom outside, where they witnessed that many, MANY of other Balloms have gone on a sudden rampage!
But why? What was causing these once peaceful and precious creatures to become wild beasts?
Looks like it was time for the Bomberman Bros. to solve this case, and with the help of the skills they used to save the universe from Buggler's wrath!
----------
For now, Planet Bomber has become the new final world of this game's Story Mode. Its level structure is slightly different in that it has 9 normal levels in a row before finishing off with a single boss.
I decided to edit my run through this planet by going through each level with each of the 8 Bomberman Bros. For this video, I used four of the cutest Bombermen: Aqua for 7-1, Pink for 7-2, Green for 7-3, and Yellow for 7-4.
For the levels themselves, 7-1 and 7-3 is a "Defeat All Enemies" stage, 7-2 is a "Collect Keys" stage, and 7-4 is (ugh...) a 2-minute "Survival" stage.
The first three of these levels seem somewhat easier to clear, but the difficulty picks up in 7-4, where enemies are EVERYWHERE!
----------
How sad, though. The only enemies you even fight here are the Balloms, themselves. To save them them from their own rage, you have to kill a lot of them in the process...
