I have three accounts in the top 10 on three separate servers and I spent a lot of money on one account which is no further advanced than the other two, leading me to conclude that in the current state of the game when you pay money you should only do so to support the dev team and not to progress in the game. Additionally, the game devs not long ago changed the name of the game and added features unrelated to the game ("Save the Dog") which is pretty sus js. Those unusual additions were later removed once the community provided feedback and criticism. Good game, maybe check it out.
I will keep an eye on the game and update with any positive developments
