Super Dimension Fortress Macross (超時空要塞マクロス, Chō Jikū Yōsai Macross) fue lanzado para Famicom en 1985 por la compañía de videojuegos Namco y está basado en la popular serie de televisión de anime del mismo nombre. El juego es un juego de disparos de desplazamiento lateral en el que el jugador controla un luchador variable transformable VF-1 Valkyrie en una batalla interminable contra una raza invasora de alienígenas humanoides gigantes conocidos como los Zentradi.
Es una de las primeras colaboraciones conocidas entre Namco y Bandai, las cuales eventualmente se fusionarían en Bandai Namco Entertainment en 2005.
La música de fondo principal del juego es una versión de 8 bits de la canción de Lynn Minmay "Shao Pai Long" ("Little White Dragon"), que apareció tanto en la serie de televisión original de 1982 como en su adaptación cinematográfica de 1984.


Super Dimension Fortress Macross (超時空要塞マクロス, Chō Jikū Yōsai Macross) was released for the Famicom in 1985 by video game company Namco and is based on the popular anime television series of the same name. The game is a side-scrolling shoot 'em up in which the player controls a transformable VF-1 Valkyrie variable fighter in an unending battle against an invading race of giant humanoid aliens known as the Zentradi.
It is one of the earliest known collaborations between Namco and Bandai, both of which would eventually merge into Bandai Namco Entertainment in 2005.
The game's main background music is an 8-bit version of the Lynn Minmay song "Shao Pai Long" ("Little White Dragon"), which was featured in both the original 1982 TV series and its 1984 movie adaptation.
