Super Freaks 1 Ultimate Edition (Alpha 19, Challenge Modes Pt. 1)
Somehow, against all odds, I managed to basically make every single one of these TODAY. And they work just fine! ...as far as I know anyway. All of the modes shown here will be present in the SAGE 2022 demo. Let's go over these challenge modes:
--Free Play
The simplest challenge mode, you can basically replay any level you've completed. Not much to say about this.
--Speedrun
There are a whopping TEN speedrun modes, one for each world in the game, and three bonus ones: Adventure Run consists of every main level in the game, Secret Run is all of the secret levels (since each one is based on the 2006 level layouts, this is the closest you'll get to recreating that version in Ultimate Edition), and lastly, Ultimate Run is every single level in the game. It's bar none the ultimate challenge in this game. I demonstrate Normal Run in this video, which is all of the Normal World levels.
--Randomizer
Probably my favorite of the challenge modes, Randomizer is an endless survival mode where all of the levels you've beaten are thrown at you in random order until you die. Yes, you can actually get a Game Over in this mode! On top of that, to prevent things from getting too easy, you can only collect up to 4 hearts at a time, although hearts carry over between levels. When you inevitably perish, you'll see how many levels you've cleared. Try to get as many as you can!
--Boss Rush
Not done yet, as only three of nine bosses have been made, but it's exactly what it sounds like. Fight every boss in a row. Like in Randomizer, hearts carry over between fights, but you can actually get a Game Over.
