Warning: If you are not a patient player, do not even bother trying this trick.

If you have ever played Final Fantasy Tactics, you know that every action you make gives you 10 exp and that a full level up requires that you get 100 exp. This is practically the same thing, except Claude is the only one can do this trick (as far as I know of at least; dunno if any other support character can do this as well).

What you do is kill all but one enemy, then have that enemy wail on another character, whose level is close to the enemy, preferably have them facing an enemy that they have a type disadvantage at.

Next, have Claude use his healing command from his menu, not from his spirit command skills. He gets 10 exp every time he heals an ally (or himself or an enemy) and if you are patient, you can get him to level 99 in 990 turns (!) if you did this at the end of the first stage.
