Super Mario 3D World Playthrough 24: Race to the Flag
2Despite having some very tricky levels at the start of the Bonus World, we do at least get a new playable character, and with Rosalina as a playable option, there are some more levels. Good to see some references to other Mario games in the next few levels, as well as chasing the Goal Pole.

The next few levels for World Star have some interesting mechanics, The Great Goal Pole has a winged Goal Pole that will fly away, and you have to go after it, and some Walleyes will act as obstacles in some sections of the level. The level ends if you get to the Goal Pole, so this is a race to see how quickly you can get to the Goal Pole.
After getting a Stamp from the Sprixie House, the next level is Super Block Land, which plays a remix of the overworld theme from Super Mario 3D Land, and this level makes use of Bob-ombs, with Chargin' Chucks as the common enemies. There are some Rock Blocks and Big Blocks, which require a Bob-omb to destroy them. There are some Key Coins to collect in order to finish this level.
Captain Toad Takes a Spin is one tricky level, as you just spin the course by pressing the switches, and you have to avoid the Fizzlits, as they can prove to be a tough hazard. This is probably one of the much harder Captain Toad levels in the game.
Now for Honeycomb Starway, and the music there is one of my favourite songs in Super Mario 3D World, it is a remix of Gusty Garden Galaxy from Super Mario Galaxy, which was already a fan favourite song from that game, but that is one cool remix. This is an auto-scrolling level with hexagonal platforms which create pathways, and some of them have lava or ice, making them trickier to navigate, and you do get a Boomerang Flower which can help against the Fire Piranha Plants in this level. This is my second favourite level in all of Super Mario 3D World, the first being Mount Must Dash, which had a remix of Mario Circuit from Super Mario Kart and it was back at World 3.
