Basically, Sonicpacker showed me that if you press B right when leaving the water, you can keep the shell out of the water. We then thought if there might be a way to change it, and surely enough, the long tunnel in DDD alowed that. BTW, the music will stay as the shell music once you transform it so be ready for it. The shell also reappears after you turn it into a coin, so this is yet another 255 coin stage.
Should possibly work in JRB too if a good loading zone is found.
