Today is September 13th, 2020, which makes it the official 35th anniversary of Super Mario Bros.
This is my favorite franchise in all of video games and to celebrate, I wanted to do something truly special and unique to Paul Gale Network. This is why I decided to put together 171 individual 1“ x 1“ pieces of tile to create a beautiful 8-Bit Mario mosaic and an additional 160 individual 1“ x 1“ pieces of tile to create a very nice Superstar a.k.a. Starman mosaic.
These two very carefully laid out pieces of art are not just going anywhere though. They are going to be laid out at the bottom of my newly plastered pool and be something really fun to look at for many years to come.
Shigeru Miyamoto, Takashi Tezuka, Koji Kondo, Charles Martinet, and to truly everyone who was ever a part of delivering a Super Mario game, thank you. Nintendo, thank you for the countless memories and for keeping my favorite character and franchise, alive and well for all of these years.
