How to join: First, you need a Nintendo Switch Online Membership in order to play online. Then, you will need to go to your main menu, and click on the "Online Status" button. On the top right of the page, you'll see an option "Play with Friends". Click "Find Room", and the game should automatically find me if you have me as a Nintendo Switch Friend.
(Note: The thumbnail might be a little misleading, physical players will not be present in actual gameplay)
What you can do in the Friend Room: Friend Rooms contain all the features you normally have doing online play in the game (having the ability to share items, and revive ghosts physically or through standees), those will give you Heart Points!
Furthermore, friend rooms allow you to see the levels your friends are playing as well!
Another feature of Friend Rooms is having Friend Races (only available on levels with a Race Block - probably the ones with at least two wonder seeds or boss levels - where you can have a fun little competition with other players (and cheat using the Jet Run Badge)!
(Notes: Friend Rooms don't give you the ability to play courses you haven't unlocked yet, additionally, if a character is selected by someone in that friend room, you cannot select that character)
