It was a little under ten years ago that I first ever played Super Mario Land. As a fan of the Mario series it was easy for me to see that this game wasn't exactly like the other entries. Around the same time I came up with the idea to do the Donkey Kong '94 video I wanted to do another video about Super Mario Land and treat it as a dualogy almost. I felt as though a typical analysis video wouldn't suffice though, so I decided to make it a commentary instead. In some ways these are my favorite videos to make since tackling a game front to back seems to spark the most thoughts and creativity out of me. However they're also some of the hardest videos to make. This video was meant to come out less than a month after the Donkey Kong '94 video. I have ideas for future commentaries but I'm definitely going to restructure how I make them from now on. In the meantime, enjoy the thirty-five plus minutes of discussion on the thirty year old Game Boy game.
