Super Mario Maker 2 - Launching The 12 Item Challenge! (Get Creating & Submit Your Courses!)
18Today I am launching a monthly community challenge, where I challenge all makers to create a course in 2 weeks using only 12 items selected by myself! I will then play all submitted courses on a livestream and make a highlight video of the top 5 courses that stood out to me.
I have created this challenge to test peoples creativity when they are restricted to using items they wouldn't normally use or having ones they frequently rely on being taken away, I think it would be a lot of fun to see what ideas people can come up with under such restrictions.
If creating isn't your thing, you can still have a blast by playing the crazy creations we will all be making each month. I encourage everyone to try out all of the courses submitted.

The Super Milltendo 12 Item Challenge - August (SM12IC-1)
The 12 selected items for this months challenge are:
1. Note block
2. Donut block
3. Gentle Slope
4. Mushroom Platform
5. Big Coin
6. Spiny
7. Goomba
8. Thwomp
9. Twister
10. Burner
11. Vine
12. Swinging Claw

- MAIN RULES -
- Use only the 12 selected items
- Each item must be used at least once but can be used as much as you like.
- Any course theme (including night themes) are permitted
- For now the 3D World game mode is off limits, but i will eventually do a 3D world only challenge one month.
- You can use any variant of an item. If it shows in the hold menu when you long press an item, then it is allowed.
- Feel free to experiment with clear conditions, course hazards, the timer, and stage scroll.
- You are allowed to use all sound clips.
- You can only create a sub world if warp pipes are a chosen item.
- SCHEDULE -
- Every first weekend of the month I will upload a video showcasing which 12 items are to be used for this months challenge.
- Every third weekend of the month I will be playing all submitted courses on a livestream. This is the deadline to submit a course if you want to get it played by myself. This gives you 2 weeks to create a course.
- Every last weekend of the month I will upload a video showcasing the top 5 courses submitted for that month.
- If your course is selected you can choose any item to be included in the challenge for the following month.
- I will also be taking part in the challenge and submitting a course created by myself during the livestream to give you guys a chance to play my course.
- Subscribe and hit the bell to not miss an upload/stream or join the discord server for upload/stream schedules and updates.
- HOW TO SUBMIT A COURSE -
- You can submit a course either through Youtube or Discord. I would rather youtube submissions however.
- To submit a course through Youtube, simply comment your level code on the video announcing the 12 item challenge for the month.
- To submit a course through Discord there will be a channel named "12 Item Challenge Submissions" (Discord link below)
- To make your course stand out to others I recommend leaving a comment with the course name, the level code and a small description of what to expect.
- Only one course per person please.
- You must add "(SM12IC)" followed by the number challenge we are currently on to the end of the title of your course. For example: Simple Forest Level (SM12IC-1)
- If you want your course to be entered you have until the livestream on the third weekend of the month to submit it.
- It will be fine to submit your course during the livestream, but any courses submitted on the video/discord will take priority as they were submitted first.
The rules and schedule could change over time.
