Super Mario Maker [Episode 3] [Don't get caught! by Kyubox] (Speedrun 00:18.450)
Mostly uploading this to show a friend.
With the third time now; I think it is safe to say that I have formed a habit of speedrunning Kyubox's Super Mario Maker levels. Though I do have certain rules for what Super Mario Maker levels I would ever consider speedrunning. Mostly that is getting the world record on accident then wanting to perfect that time.
Fairly simple layout. The first section requires some timed jumps but the last jump goes into the block section. For that it is important to have that last jump be a triple jump. The first three jumps can include a double jump of a spin in the air. I only really cared for that last jump to be a triple jump.
Now the block section requires Big Mario to be able to ground pound blocks instead of going around them. Gotta be careful though. I ended the first ground pound before destroying the block on the ground, as I need to run. The second ground pound destroyed the ground block but as long as I started the high jump into a wall jump before running into the lava. The third ground pound it seems that I ended it right where I destroyed the lower block. After that it is a simple jump to the axe. I did a spin in the air because I felt it reduced the ending lag.
