The ill-fated Culex battle, toughest fight in the game. However, with the right equipment and items (namely what I've had throughout the entire game...), it's pretty hard to lose this fight. Toadstool + Safety Ring + Lazy Shell = Near impossible to die. Culex is the only one that can deal more than 10 damage to her at any time, up to 60 I believe.


Anyways, your best bet is to have Bowser and Toadstool use Red Essences on Bowser and Mario, then TRY to get as many Super Jumps on the Earth Crystal as possible to take it out in one shot. Around 20-30 Super Jumps will kill it. After that, use Super Flame with Mario against the Water Crystal while Bowser uses Drill Claw and Toadstool chucks Rock Candies. After the Water Crystal goes down, take out the Wind Crystal by having Mario and Bowser team up on it, then the Fire Crystal and finally Culex. Unless you want to take things cheaply and kill Culex first....which will then instantly win the battle....
