Super Metroid Redesign 100% Part 7/19 - Screw Attack
Back to the east side again...
Major Powerups:
10:27 - 10:45 Screw Attack - PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS NOT REQUIRED THE NEXT THING UNTIL SPACE JUMP. GETTING THIS EARLY REQUIRES SOME SPEED BOOSTING SKILLS. At the beginning where you see the blue switch gate, shoot it open to have more room to Speed Boost. Then shoot the floor and follow down as quickly as possible to reach the next slope. Boost onto the slope at 10:36 then kneel to keep charge then quickly make your way to the right to the next room. When you get on the T-shaped platform with Grapple point on the bottom, somersault you way down and face left quick then tap the jump button then press and hold left then press the jump button again to boost to the upgrade.
There are 2 ways to get out of this spot alive after collecting it:
1: Make sure to boost the slope near the powerup to keep your charge then boost away to the right.
2: As seen in the video, Screw Attack your way to the right as far as you can into the lava until you see a yellow platform. Mid-air morph and place your Bombs then slightly move your ball to the right of your bombs to pop yourself diagonally to the platform to reach your way out.
Missile Expansions:
00:37 At the elevator where you first entered Norfair, in the lava is a missile tank that must be shot to be revealed and collected.
05:39 A missile tank is waiting for you after shooting this green gate.
06:25 - 06:57 You can either Speed Boost or use Space Jump to grab this pickup.
07:32 - 09:32 You can use Space Jump to have more advantage but as you can see I decided to get it early using correct timing to fit in the tight space by morphing carefully. When you see the red-face bouncing enemy, freeze it to use it as a platform. Don't do like I did by accidentally killing it. The rest of the way leads to the tank.
Reserve Tanks:
01:23 Your first Reserve Tank is right behind the wall at this save station near the elevator that goes to Norfair.
Energy Tanks:
02:27 Use your Spring Ball to climb up to the tank. (BTW getting that tank seems similar to the Energy Tank thats in Metroid Prime in Magmoor Caverens where you have to Double Bomb Jump...)
Power Bomb Expansions:
12:42 - 12:53 Boost through these green bubbled blocks and Morph Ball to the left. Use your Wave Beam to open the blue switch gate to get to the pickup.
Chozo Guardians:
Thoughout the game you will encounter standing Chozo Statues know as Chozo Guardians. There are 12 in total and 3 in each area: Crateria, Brinstar, Norfair, and Maridia. These are required to access the final area (Tourian) of the game.
13:10 - After collecting the Power Bomb tank, there is a Chozo Guardian behind the wall. Use a Power Bomb to reveal it.
Super Missile Expansions:
15:21 Use your Hi-Jump Boots to wall jump the walls higher and make sure you have 25 missiles for the purple hatch. Make your way down and on to the right and at the end shoot the ceiling to reveal it.
