Super Metroid [SNES] Playthrough Playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLIZ8kn0xML272WSJSChuGklnku6AjCcW9

Previously, Samus arrived on planet Zebes in pursuit of Ridley, who stole the Metroid larva. She made her way down to the western part of Brinstar and reached the area's second save station.

Past a room with Kihunters, Samus reaches a miniboss, the Spore Spawn (time 1:02). It is vulnerable to attack when it stops and reveals its core. It will darken and gyrate faster as its health dwindles. When it is dead, Samus can climb past it.

Past the Spore Spawn, Samus finds Super Missile Tank #01 (time 4:11). This is a much stronger type of missile, and it is needed to open green doors.

Back in the vertical area, Samus finds Missile Tank #05 (time 4:49).

Down a nearby hidden shaft, she finds the Charge Beam (time 5:06). This allows her to charge her attacks to deal added damage. Quite useful.

Continuing east and going through a Super Missile door, Samus will arrive in the rocky zone of Brinstar (time 6:08). The enemies are a little different down here, and the background music is pretty cool.

At the bottom of the shaft, the green door to the left holds an Energy Recharge terminal (time 6:29).

In the second corridor east of the shaft, Samus can go through the left corner of the ceiling (time 6:57). A couple of clever wall jumps will let her reach a Super Missile door. Beyond, she finds the Spazer, a useful upgrade that increases her beam power.

Continuing east, she temporarily passes through Maridia (time 7:48). In lower-eastern Brinstar, she takes the lift down to Upper Norfair (time 8:10). The shaft where she arrives in Norfair is safe enough, but beware of areas so hot that they drain Samus's energy.

A few levels down, Samus blasts through the red door on the left (time 8:31). Beyond, she finds Energy Tank #02. A tunnel below leads to a room with the Hi-jump Boots, which increase her jump height. Then, on the way out, she comes across Missile Tank #06.

Samus climbs up and takes the elevator back to lower-east Brinstar (time 10:17). He can continue east easily with Super Missiles and the Hi-jump Boots. Charged Spazer attacks make short work of Kihunters.

Down and to the east, she will find the Mini-Kraid (time 11:44). Beyond, a Boss Door blocks the entrance to Kraid's lair. Three Missiles to the eye will defeat it.

Then, Samus finds her first boss, Kraid (time 12:13). This time around, Kraid is a massive monster. He is vulnerable to Missiles, Super Missiles, or charged Beam attacks when his mouth is open. In the second phase of the battle, he will emerge from the ground, and Samus must go to the higher platforms to damage him.

Past Kraid, Samus finds the Varia Suit (time 13:31). This halves the damage she takes, and it also prevents her from taking damage from the hot zones of Norfair. However, she still takes damage from lava.

Back to the west, a metal door can now be opened (time 14:46). After bombing some Beetoms, Samus can find Energy Tank #03 in the ceiling.

Then, Samus goes back down to Upper Norfair (time 15:26). She can go to the right straightaway through hot rooms.

In the second room, she can brave the lava to find Missile Tank #07 (time 16:15).

In a spacious area to the east, Samus can go right and then drop down to find Missile Tank #08 (time 17:16). This large open area also has a save station in the west.

Samus bombs her way down and goes through a door in the floor. The path leads down, east, up, west, and then up again.

She goes through a red door in the shaft just to the east of the large open area (time 20:06). Past a barrier that can be opened with a Beam, she finds Missile Tank #09.

Then, there is a pit that she is supposed to cross with the Grappling Beam. However, she can make her way across by dashing and then using a well-timed wall jump. It is well worth using a sequence break here because she can get the Wave Beam through the next red door. This allows her beams to pass through walls.

At the top of the room, she will be in the upper-eastern part of the large open area, and she can continue through the green door with a Super Missile. After defeating the Skrees, she can go through a fake ceiling panel.

After dashing through a corridor with crumbling floors, she can find Missile Tank #10 in the ceiling above the red door (time 22:28). Very easy to miss.

Beyond, she finds the Speed Booster expansion (time 22:48). She will need to utilize this right away to escape the rising lava!

She saves at the save station just off the large open area. Next, she will continue exploring Upper Norfair.

Thanks for watching!
