Super Off Road - the Baja
1This was first game I played that wasn't fantasy or something you couldn't go outside and do in the real world. This was as real as it could get. You actually could compete in a off road racing league, driving from Ensenada to La Paz in the Baja Peninsula. There really was a man called Ivan Stewart that was a multi-time winner of this race. There was a real chance of danger that presented itself to drivers and race teams. This was as close to real life as you could get for a home console game. The Baja was spiritually succeeded by Midway's Off Road Challenge, which was ported to the N64.
