Super Paper Mario for Wii came out on April 9th, 2006. Well, I picked it up the next day and have been enjoying the heck out of it ever since. Today while I was playing, I encountered a very funny nerd character in the game named Francis.
**Here's a little spoiler, so be carefull if you don't want to know ANYTHING at all.**
Francis kidnaps your Pixl friend named Tippy, because he's a really big nerd, and one of his hobbies is butterfly collecting. He mistakes Tippy for a butterfly and the rest is history.
This scene in particular is in the 4th chapter of this mission and you as Mario (or Peach or Bowser), gets to look through two keyholes at Francis and Tippy.
When you look through the left keyhole, you see Francis talk all "l337" (that's leet, aka elite for the normal folk out there) to Tippy.
Meanwhile, if you look through the right keyhole you just get this response from Tippy, "..............."
Yeah, this game is really funny and is definitely worth a buy if you're a Wii owner. My friends Nate Bihldorff and Rich Amtower at Nintendo of America worked on the text localization for the game, and they really know comedy.
I hope that you all enjoy my voice acting attempt at portraying Francis and his many different, funny, nerdy sayings. And who knows, maybe (hopefully), Nintendo will like it enough and have me do some voice acting work for them in the future. That, or someone else who needs a voice actor that can pull off "nerd".
Take it easy; Paul Gale out.
