Super R-Type - 1 Buttons
So, if I compare this game to R-Type Final, using SNES conventions for both, not a single thing is in the same place.
Final: A is rapid, B is shoot/recall force, Y is charge
Super: A is shoot/recall force, B is charge, Y is rapid
I prefer the Final setup because both while charging and shooting rapidly you can also have comfortable access to operations involving the force.
And yes, I didn't notice the charge meter resetting to level 1 a couple moments after reaching level 2. I guess you have to time your charging or something.
I'll edit and upload another episode this evening. I've already recorded it. In that episode I'll learn about how each weapon has two levels, and how the Force fires differently while detached if it is higher level. I didn't try attaching the force to the back after actually having a weapon, I believe, but I'm pretty sure in this episode it didn't shoot backward from the back because it simply didn't shoot while attached, not because it was shooting forward, through my ship.
Oh, and I've changed my mind about next level previews. Next episode won't have one. And it seems the game offers unlimited continues, so I don't need save states to preserve lives: it'll just allow me to create the same effect as leaving the game on to avoid losing progress.
