It's been some time, hasn't it? It's been pretty busy as of late. Well, that, and I went to the Arcade Expo Inaugural Event and It Never Drains in Southern California, as they were both in my area.

But that's not what you're here for. You're here for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. There are three videos in this session, and here's the first of them.

Match #1
Meta Knight
Mario Galaxy
This stage seems to be pretty laggy whenever it comes up online. I have no idea why it has to be that laggy, as there's nothing in the background that really affects gameplay, and Windy Hill Zone has the same gravity mechanic without it being laggy. Despite the times when the game comes to a standstill, nobody disconnected.

Match #2
Pit
Garden of Hope
Well, here's the Garden of Hope match for this batch of videos. One of my opponents is apparently Master Core, the essence of Master Hand, the freakiest thing to have ever existed in the Smash Bros. series, and the hardest boss of the franchise. Those are some really big shoes to fill if someone's going to pose as it. I've noticed, in this stage, that people have a liking for taking shelter in that upturned vase when the Pikmin come to fix it. If they think it makes a good hiding spot, anyone can see the marker above that character's head. (Why did Mr. Game & Watch's Drill explode?) I should also remember to react to that Abandon Ship with a projectile deflector like the Guardian Orbitars. Does it work against that?

Match #3
Pac-Man
Mario Circuit
The lag seems to be dying down somewhat, though it still really screws with my button inputs with its frequent pausing and slowing of everything down. You do get to see the Shy Guys interfere with the combatants, if that's what you were hoping for. They don't quite pack the punch the F-Zero racers in Port Town Aero Dive have, or even when the Shy Guys zoom about in Brawl's Mario Circuit, but you still should stay out of their way.

Match #4
Diddy Kong
Kalos Pokémon League
Okay, something is screwy with this. It felt like ever since Ike's Great Aether took effect, that Mega Man chased me down relentlessly. Me, I like to go after whoever I feel is in the lead if their lead has grown too strong. Getting a double KO with a Final Smash as the first KOs in a match I'd consider as a strong lead, as there's now a 3-point gap, so I decided to go after Ike. Then again, maybe I was just in Mega Man's general direction, but it looked kind of weird to aim left with that Charged Mega Buster when Zero Suit Samus was just standing there to the right. Or maybe Mega Man's player is trying to sway the Conquest results.

Match #5
King Dedede
Wrecking Crew
On the flip side, matches on Wrecking Crew tend to be laggy, and I can totally understand why: It's full of hazards. But this one wasn't laggy, and it looks like Mega Man decided to battle as normal, so everything's fine with me.
