Super Smash Bros. for Wii U - Jan 11 15 B
And for the record, calcific tendonitis, the condition Masahiro Sakurai is in, is the formation of crystals growing within the joints on his elbows, wrists, and shoulders. The crystals periodically split apart and rejoin. Not surprisingly, this causes stiffness and pain if he moves them, and if it's severe enough (which it sounds like it is), when not moving as well. It's a marvel he's remained as cheerful as he is when describing the Miiverse contest winner, and it shows how dedicated he is to prioritize finishing Smash Bros. before getting treatment.
Hence, I think everyone should leave Sakurai alone and allow him to get the surgery he needs. Though the cause for calcific tendonitis is unknown, it can be cured, but the surgery is expensive due to the high amount of skill needed.
So let's just enjoy Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Wii U in however way we want and not give him any grief, shall we? He can't play his own games right now. He can't even do the Iwata Salute.
Match #6
Fox
Mario Circuit
Okay, what is it with people who use Little Mac and making a beeline for me? I mean, it stopped after a bit, but it doesn't make any sense. I suppose it all comes down to whom I begin next to. Also, that was a weird thing that happened with Foxfire near the end that got me KOed. Also interesting to see that you CAN collide with the buildings and such the platforms pass by.
Match #7
Ike
Lylat Cruise
I accidentally gave a KO for Jigglypuff during Puff Up, but it's all fine. Puff Up is one os the most misused and misunderstood Final Smashes anyhow. Something we should also take from this is that Little Mac does not like getting hit by drills very much. At least he's not going after me anymore, though it is a different Little Mac. It's also interesting that his Straight Lunge's super armor means he takes damage and gets the flower on his head after Jiglyypuff strikes him with Rest. As for Kirby, well, not much for me to say about him this time around.
Match #8
Alph
Port Town Aero Dive
Does Alph show up on the randomizer? I take it he does, just that it's rare. This time, it seems, Alph prefers the Beam Sword over the help of his own Pikmin. Maybe Alph can go buy some Beam Swords and wield them along with his Pikmin if he ever needs to land on that planet again. Of course, having a Back Shield helps too. (I have no idea how I got the credit for that KO of Toon Link near the end.)
Match #9
Alph (again)
Kalos Pokémon League
Because I'm not sure how rare Alph is, I just had him selected directly instead of the randomizer. I forgot I didn't have the chip on random, hence why Alph is back for a consecutive match. These guys must think that I main Alph now.
Match #10
Shulk
Coliseum
Great, two Little Macs again, but at least there's no Flare Blitz obsessed Charizard this time. The Little Macs are also not obsessed with the lightning jabs, so you don't have that whole trapping thing while someone else comes in. I still had to be careful with all those Straight Lunges though, as this stage is well-suited for such a move. The Jolt Haymaker too, but I didn't see the Little Macs using them that much.
Match #11
Villager
Mario Galaxy
"Champion Road"? I don't remember a Champion Road in either Mario Galaxy game. This is a remix of Gusty Garden Galaxy, and there was no "Champion Road" there, that's for sure. While attacking the tree causes it to wilt faster, I think that's a very risky way to deal with Timber, because you're putting yourself in harm's way. Also, this marks the very first time I was able to catch a projectile with Pocket, having been hit with many before thanks to the button delay. I figured out how much button delay there was. Pocket is by far the most amusing-looking move in the game due to how it looks and the devastation that can happen if it hits, as can be seen here. I should've waited a bit longer though, as although I KOed Dark Pit with it, the returned projectile went right over Peach's head and would have surely KOed her too. Nevertheless, anything the Villager Pockets is amusing, since stopping to grab something and putting it in one's pants in the middle of battle looks so jarring.
