My friend, Jetz, who is better known under the username of CVAnimation, visited my house recently! While he visited, we decided to play and record all sorts of video games. Of course, we had to make sure that we played Super Smash Bros. while we together. However, we agreed that, since were together locally, we had to make use of the opportunity to record something that could ONLY be done locally. So, we decided to play each of the console Super Smash Bros. games, starting with Super Smash Bros. 64, then onward to Super Smash Bros. Melee, then Super Smash Bros. Brawl, then concluding with Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.
Another friend of mine, shrooby, had done this idea in the past. However, for the sake of this video, Jetz and I agreed that we should only select stages that did NOT appear in a later game. For example, in Super Smash Bros. 64, we agreed to not pick stages such as Kongo Jungle 64, as that stage is a selectable stage in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. Similarly, we could not pick a stage such as Rainbow Cruise in Super Smash Bros. Melee, as that stage is also available in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. This also meant that, when we played Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, we could not pick a stage such as Norfair, as that stage is FROM another Super Smash Bros. game. Basically, we wanted to select stages that were EXCLUSIVE to the game that we were playing at the time.
ALSO, I'M SETTING A BOUNTY! This is the first episode of this series to use the Version 1.1.6 update. Despite setting my Wii U to disable automatic updates, and despite even completely unplugging the system, I was forced to update my game for the sake of recording this video. Super Smash Bros. updates contain balance patches, which make the game's replays unwatchable. As a result, I'm setting a bounty for anyone that's able to help restore my replays! For those that don't know, replays aren't actually videos; they are essentially scripts that reenact a match. The reason that old replays become unwatchable is because these "scripts" may become desynchronized with the game, as a fighter's data may now be different, and thus, certain actions in a replay may not be reenacted properly. IF ANYONE IS ABLE TO FIND A WAY TO SAVE MY REPLAYS FROM VERSION 1.1.4 AND 1.1.5, PLEASE MESSAGE ME VIA TWITTER!
Thank you, and enjoy! ;)
