In Super Smash Flash 2, All-Star returns as a game mode. Like in SSF, it pitches the player to fight all 46 characters in the game's roster with only one stock. However, the player cannot continue upon losing a match, as doing so will now result in an immediate game over. Additionally, the mode now features a fixed order of 10 matches and opponents are faced in sets of five per match in which the player faces up to three at a time, with another opponent immediately entering the match once a former opponent gets defeated; this continues until the player defeats all five to win the match. Each match combines multiple series franchises and the stage fought on is a randomly selected home stage option from the respective opponents.

Like in SSF, the player enters the All-Star Rest Area with their accumulated damage between matches. Here, the opponents in the next match are displayed on the left as square screens, and defeated opponents appear as trophies across the foreground and background. There are also three healing items on the three soft platforms on the right side of the stage, which do not reappear again upon being used. Depending on the selected difficulty, the recovery items themselves change: on Easy there are three Energy Tanks, on Normal three Heart Containers, on Hard three Maxim Tomatoes and on Intense three Food items, all recovering their respective amount of damage. To start the next match, the player enters the teleporter at the center of the All-Star Rest Area, with their damage carrying over to the match.
