Surprisingly Better Than I Thought || Fisher-Price Great Adventures Castle (1998)
So I'm actually thoroughly impressed with this game. I was expecting to like the 1995 version better than this one as that was the one I had and grew up with, but actually I like this game better. It has a lot more activities, you can be a lot more creative, and there's a lot more content meaning more play time.
Granted there are some things that I miss from the older version, such as the art style. Yes, it was pixelated, but I can't deny that the opening scene was gorgeous! The other thing I missed and something I've said with a lot of these games is there's no incentive to want to play the minigames as you can complete the game without them. The mini-games are just there as extras, which is fine, but for games that are trying to teach educational lessons to kids, I think there needs to be incentive to want to learn. On the other hand I remembered these games fondly even after all these years and even still remembered the mini-games and how to complete them. So maybe because it was more of a choice to learn that's what helped me learn better, I guess???
