"Mash the Muncher Menace" is a level I designed in Super Mario Maker 1. The course centers around a single boss fight.

A simple introduction section is included for the player to collect a bunch of power-ups (the maximum amount you can have simultaneously) and to learn a few rules about how to defeat the Muncher enemy, which will be useful for the boss fight. I also tried to keep the introduction section simple so that entering the boss room would come off as a greater surprise to the player.

The player must escape the underground boss room by clearing enough Munchers to reach the exit pipe. These can be defeated using POW blocks or the Shell helmet to knock them off of the tracks. These items spawn constantly from pipes in the middle of the room, so the player can use as many as they need. Clouds also spawn to grant additional maneuverability to the player. As the player clears Munchers from the tracks, additional obstacles can enter the chamber: Spinies from above and Springs and Cheep Cheeps from the side.

The level is capped off with a top-of-the-flagpole challenge: use a Shell Helmet to jump on top of the Munchers and "damage boost" to reach the top of the flagpole for a 1-up! I fail this challenge in this video and hang my head in utter shame...
