Switch Starlink: Battle for Atlas DDE G8, 1P gameplay, Outlaw trouble & getting Eli's rare minerals!
I forgot to talk to Eli before taking off to find the requested mineral. As a result, at took off in the wrong direction: Pioneer Wreckage. Vid timeline:
(0:00) Main Campaign: Smash 'n' Grab.
Offer help.
Preparing and leaving Eli Arborwood's refinery. Forgetting to talk to him first, I take off to a Pioneer Wreckage site thinking I'll acquire there what he wanted.
(3:39) Outlaw defense turrets at wreckage site.
I decided to start my search for Eli Arborwood's rare minerals at the wreckage area we passed by earlier, in an attempt to knock 2 birds with one shot.
However, I quickly ran into trouble in the form of 3 Outlaw defense turrets protecting the site.
Once I was able to take them all out, I didn't saw anything of value inside the wreckage. Although I was able to retrieve the turrets power core or cell.
Turned out, that piece of equipment counted as an "atom". So I now finally know what that is, with the first two symbols in the inventory as common minerals (the "cubicles" symbol) and organics (the "blue sphere" symbol).
(15:35) Prospector Mission: Panning for Answers.
Retrieve the rare mineral.
Now having spoken to Eli, the "Main Campaign" switched to a "Prospector Mission" highlighting the true Objective. Eli is a Prospector, a business person that handles all manner of resources: natural and scraps. Hence why he operates a Refinery. Now I'm beginning to have a clearer picture of how Starlink is structuriced regarding Objective progression.
(17:14) Outlaws attack Caladian, Haven's Observatory site.
Later on, I discovered the location of Caladian, the observatory of Haven, via the Starmap. It is in close proximity to Eli's Refinery.
The observatory was under attack by Outlaws, which caught me by surprise. I would have thought they would concentrate their efforts on sites rich in resources. Guess then, no one is safe from them.
Unfortunately, the head of the observatory was not present. Hopefully, she was simply not present at the time, instead of something bad, like being kidnapped by the Outlaws.
(20:44) Approaching rare minerals area.
This area of the map turned out to be enclosed some kind of field. Although, I don't know what it is, or how it's being placed there. Once inside a ping started, much like the sonar from a submarine.
Of cource, I had to get ambushed by both the local creatures and the Legion. With my afterburners disabled, I had to do the jumping maneuver to shake off those little Legion critters from my hull.
