It can't have been 25 years since I first played this game, since I first boarded the Von Braun and encountered the Many, since I was first helped by Dr Polito, since I first played Swinekeeper.

25 years ago System Shock 2 came out and flopped. The sales were not enough for a sequel, and the game just died.
BUT... it has influenced so many things in games since then. Audio logs from the crew? System Shock 2 did it. Hacking minigames? System Shock 2 did it. An antagonist who taunts you throughout the game? System Shock 1 did it first, but System Shock 2 did it too!
