Wow, cool gun woman from Tales of the Abyss! Agile gunslinging with master spells and an altered arte. She even cartwheels! I think I'm falling for her.

It really feels like a far cry compared to some other conventional close range characters in Rays. While Legretta has no side switch artes, she can retreat with Double Trigger, evade sideways with Turn Bullet (always to her left!) or close in with Assault Rush. These alone provide her great mobility on the field, so she has a fair bit of freedom chipping down iron stance.

Once you intend on breaking the iron stance, Assault Rush is a good starter for it. Max enhanced Assault Rush inflicts enough stagger to loop with Turn Bullet on Final Nazar level bosses once. Richter however is on par with an earlier version of that boss, which gives Legretta free reigns to loop this combo to her heart's content, with CC being the only restriction.

To round out her 4-slot synergy, I use her 5-star arte Burst Laser. This is a multi-hitting laser that comes out fairly fast if you queue it after a few artes, which Legretta has no problem doing.

What makes this arte really cool is that it synergises with her altered arte. Legretta has an altered arte mechanic which will change her gun arte to an exclusive Chase Blaze arte if she uses one after a spell. A multi-hitting fireball that only costs 5 CC and travels pretty much as far as Scarlet Laser. You can end combos with it, you can continue combos after it and the move lasts long enough to let Legretta retreat to regenerate CC if a boss ends up blocking it. It's a neat little arte. It even continues to act during Legretta's free Mirrage Arte Gatling Stamp! Use that to tack on some extra damage and flair, it looks nice.

My gameplan here against Richter is to mostly chip away iron stance with Double Trigger and Turn Bullet, combo with Assault Rush and take advantage of max enhanced Double Trigger's damage negation for the next spell. This is a decent, cheap enhance to have in this fight as you can tank a couple hits of Richter's water spell or close range attacks and then transition into Burst Laser's master variant "Scarlet Laser". As with other 5-star master artes, tons of invincibility will cover you during it and I try to sneak in a Chase Blaze to perhaps start a combo or otherwise add damage.

It's not a very complex fight or anything and Legretta's damage output leaves a little something to be desired. Maybe it's just me not having boosted her much? I pulled a few times on her debut banner back in April to get her 5-star which I thought was enough at the time... and thanks to the game's master-disciple system, my recently boosted Milla Maxwell (we're talking 48 CC + max spirit gear here) was able to provide Legretta with more attack stat and a whopping 12 CC! This alone makes me grateful for the system's existence, it essentially means getting duplicate rare drops for one character can go towards a different, under developed character on your roster. Good stuff Rays, keep doing you.

I wanted to try a different, a more lenient fight to showcase Legretta's repertoire. She could probably tackle Gefion and Final Nazar with enough patience (Double Trigger intensifies), but even on Normal mode those fights would take over two minutes with my current loadout. Maybe not a very interesting watch! If she gets new stuff or returns in a future banner I might re-evaluate an attempt for one of those fights, this is easily one of my more enjoyed Rays-exclusive characters.

I hope the summer heat hasn't been too much for you. I'll try to work out other video projects in the coming weeks so you can eventually have something else to watch besides phone game fights. :P

Thanks for watching!
