Yep, called who the final boss was the first time I met them.

I liked Tales of Vesperia. The protagonist was likeable, and not one of the party members felt useless or completely extraneous. It had some story beats that landed with me, and wasn't too much of a hassle to play. It did really lose its steam with me around two thirds of the way through when it ramped up into "save the world" territory and resolved all the character arcs, but that's what I expect from JRPGs. My new favorite Tales game.
