Donkey Kong Jr., an arcade game released in 1982, is the sequel to Donkey Kong, released in 1981 by Nintendo. The game practically takes place right after Jumpman (a.k.a. Mario) defeats Donkey Kong after he kidnapped his girlfriend. To take revenge, Mario imprisons Donkey Kong in a cage, and it's up to Donkey Kong's son, Donkey Kong Jr. to rescue him.
