Caleb Jewell beats NZ A to number 69 in just six runs, after Australia A after first day at AB Field 1024 Play video Australians dominate the first day of 'A' series as Kiwis score 147 points The Australian winter is not yet over, but with the cricket summer in earnest, Tasmanian Caleb Jewell was the first to extend his hand as a potential Test replacement for David Warner, with Australia A's 69 against New Zealand A in Brisbane. On a dominant day for the home team at Allan Border Field, after an excellent all-round bowling spectacle, it was Jewell who carried the home team 3-141 with a half-century of innings. Kiwis increased from 44.5 to 147. After Australia A captain Nathan McSweeney won draw was selected to bowl, local boy Mark Steketee gave Australians early momentum and prolific Queensland hit ball twice as fast in second before it even hit 10 o'clock. Both goals were well-tapped by goalie Jimmy Peirson followed by Cameron Bancroft on the second slide. Steketee didn't score a hat trick but it's a great start to the season for Queensland!
