Tasty Okonomiyaki at Osaka's famous Mizuno restaurant 美津のお好み焼き大阪
47Okonomiyaki is a popular Japanese dish made famous in the Kansai region of Japan. The word "Okonomi" translates to “as you like" and is an appropriate name since there are many combinations and different styles across Japan. Okonomiyaki is made of flour and diced vegetables, mixed in a bowl with meat, seafood, or other toppings and then thrown a on a grill and cooked to perfection. It is then topped with fish flakes and seaweed sprinkles and slathered with a sweet sauce and mayonnaise.
