OTTER'S & SMEEDOT'S SOUL LINK RULES:
1) You can only catch the first encounter in each area. If the first pokémon encountered faints or flees for either player, both players forfeit the encounter for that route.
2) Each player's first encounter in a new area will be soul linked together when caught.
3) Primary typings cannot be repeated on either players team.
4) All pokémon must be nicknamed.
5) If a pokémon is placed in the PC, then it's soul linked partner must be placed in the PC.
6) All pokémon that faint are rendered unusable and must be released or placed in a "death box" in the PC.
7) If a pokémon faints in battle, then it's soul linked partner "faints" with it and must be released or placed in the PC.
CLAUSES:
1) Dupes clause - if either player encounters a pokémon that they have previously caught, they may encounter a new one.
2) Species clause - if either player encounters a pokémon that is apart of the evolutionary line of a pokémon they have previously caught, they may encounter a new one.
3) Shiny clause - if either player encounters a shiny pokémon, they may catch it. Their partner may catch another pokémon in the same route as their partner's shiny encounter to form a soul link pair.
**We chose not to do different genders because it's annoying and takes too long.
