4G V-Flex (S)
Overview
The 4G V-Flex(S) is a standalone fingerprint reader. When used with Mercury-Security hardware and Access It! Universal’s Biometric option the 4G V-Flex(S) requires the use of an external reader. The external reader will initiate the 4G V-Flex’s verification polling upon a valid card transaction. Since an external reader is required, two reader ports must be used for each 4G V-Flex(S) installation of solution. Both the external reader and 4G V-Flex (S) must be installed on the same EP controller.
The overall procedure when presenting a card at the external reader is as follows:
A Card or PIN is presented at the external reader.
The EP controller recognizes that the external reader requires a biometric verification.
The EP controller initializes the 4G V-Flex and prompts for a finger to be presented.
The fingerprint read is sent to the EP controller.
The EP controller compares the fingerprint read to the stored template within its database.
If fingerprint comparison matches, the EP controller grants access to the external reader.
