The big difference between the two types of chips are the architecture. Programs that work on intel x86 programs are not going to work on ARM chips. The fact that Apple uses intel chips is the reason why Hackintoshes are so easy to make, and its also the reason why you can install Windows on an Apple computer.

We really should have seen this coming. Apple loves it's market share and hate it when people mess with their tech. No more hackintosh for you unless you got an ARM based computer.
