Tekken 5 (鉄拳5?) is a fighting game developed and published by Namco in 2004 for Arcades, and in 2005 for PlayStation 2. It is the sixth game in the Tekken series, marking the latter's tenth anniversary. The game was updated to the Tekken 5.1 version, which overall brought balance changes to the gameplay, and later to the title Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection. This update was released on Arcades in 2005 and brought to the PlayStation Portable as Tekken: Dark Resurrection; later, it was also shipped to the PlayStation 3.

The game removes several key gameplay changes introduced in Tekken 4, such as the uneven landscape, and prioritized faster gameplay, similar to older games in the series. Tekken 5 is also the first game in the series to offer character customization with accessories, costumes, and other cosmetic items, purchased with in-game currency. The cast has 32 playable characters, 7 of which are brand new and would be a hit with fans in upcoming titles in the series: Asuka Kazama, who shares the game's protagonist's surname; Devil Jin, the demonic and finally playable version of Jin Kazama; Feng Wei, an arrogant prodigy who has mastered the God Fist style; Jack-5, the new version of Jack; Jinpachi Mishima, Heihachi's father thirsty for revenge; Raven, a ninjutsu practitioner who is also a special agent; and Roger Jr., a family duo of boxing kangaroos. The home version also included a mode called Devil Within, an evolution of the Tekken Force mode featured in Tekken 3. Unlike version 5.1, which merely tried to balance the game, the Dark Resurrection update added a lot of new content (especially in the handheld version) and even more characters compared to the original game.

Tekken 5 was a critical and commercial success for the series, selling over six million copies.[1] Its sequel, Tekken 6, was released in 2007.
