Tekken 8 S2 Ranked (23): Slenderman Cheese Strats | Tekken 8 Yoshimitsu Gameplay
3This was recorded August 23rd, and are some of the last games I played getting my Yoshi to Tekken God. I struggled a lot at the start, but once I labbed him a bit more, learned some new moves, and started playing more passively, it was pretty easy.
I think Yoshi is easily on the lower end of the strength scale in Tekken 8, but that doesn’t mean he’s not broken still. There’s no weak characters in this game, but I think Yoshi is definitely one of the weaker ones as a whole. His offense is genuinely just not that good, he relies a lot on strings, mental stack, fake pressure, and he has bad lows and just general mid checks. Yoshi struggles a lot to play traditional Tekken, while also not having easy to access cancer mixups like Lars or Clive do. He relies ENTIRELY on his defensive tools, which are godlike yes, but when you’re forced to play the game based off how your opponent is, it makes playing the game a lot harder. You genuinely just need to play better than your opponent sometimes to win. Like yes he can cheese you out if you aren’t solid in the MU, but even then it’s not nearly to the level of other characters. But that’s just my opinion. Believe me, I used to hold a very different one, but if you actually play this character at a higher level, you’ll know what I mean.
Anyways, the reason there’s no commentary on this video is because I’m just lazy and upset. After I played this Yoshi session, I “took a nap” (fell asleep for 5 hours by accident) and tried to play Bryan again after it, and it just didn’t go well at all. I swear I’m actually fucking horrible at Bryan, I can’t win as that character. As someone with now 8 Tekken Gods, and multiple GoD, Bryan is easily the hardest character I’ve ever had to play. I legit just don’t understand how to play him I guess. Yoshi took 110 games for TG, but my Bryan is still hard stuck TK at like 120 games right now. He genuinely is just not easy to play, and my biggest problem is that I can’t fucking ss into her upper, so I can’t do jack fuck damage. It makes me want to DIE. But whatever, hopefully I can get him done sooner than later, but we’ll have to see. Hopefully he’ll be done before 200 games, but what do I know, probably not. I might lowkey give up playing him if I get above 200 games, because I genuinely also just don’t find him fun to play. I don’t like his playstyle. The only thing I like about him is his combos. That’s it. Fuck Bryan highkey I’d rather play broken and boring Kazuya forever than Bryan again but I gotta play this pussio to TG for my own ego, that’s the struggle.
